French Landslide Observatory – OMIV (Temporary data)

This seismological network includes several independant sites studied by the French Landslide Observatory – OMIV. The data are devoted to the analysis of the landslide endogenous seismicity (e.g. seismic sources related to physical processes triggered by the deformation of unstable slopes) and to the production of landslide seismic sources catalogues. The sites being studied are either large and continuously active landslides, either rocky cliffs affected by recurrent rockfalls. The sites are located in moutain or coastal environments.
- CHAM: Chambon landslide located in the Romanche valley (French Alps) which was very active in Summer 2015. The dataset includes deceleration phase of the landslide.
- AIGU : Aiguilles landslide located in the Guil valley (French Alps) which is the reactivation of a paleo-landslide, and is very active since Spring 2017. The dataset includes acceleration and deceleration phases of the landslide in relation to hydrological forcings.
- SAUZ: Super-Sauze landslide located in the Ubaye valley (French Alps). The dataset consists in a dense experiment of micro-seimicity analysis with a network of 60 seismological nodes during Summer 2017. The dataset includes deceleration phase of the landslide related to the drainage of the ground water table.
- VLRV: Villerville landslide located in the Pays d'Auge in Normandy (Northwestern France). The dataset includes acceleration and deceleration phase of the landslide in Winter and Spring 2018.
- AILL: Cap d'Ailly rocky cliff located in the Pays de Caux in Normandy (Northwestern France). The dataset includes several rockfall events triggered by large storms (heavy rains, ocean tides) in the limestone cliff in Winter and Spring 2018.
- PORS: Porsmillin rocky cliff located in Finistère in Brittany (Western France). The dataset includes several micro-cracking events associated to the mechanical alteration of the granitic cliff in relation to hydrological (rain, ocean) forcings in Winter and Spring 2017. The instrumental network consists in broadband seismometers.
- GRAN: Mont Granier cliff located in the Chartreuse massif (French Alps) affected by small and large volume rockfall events since Spring 2016. The dataset includes several months of seismic records in order to document the rockfall activity (date/time, location, volume).
- PEGA: Pegairolles landslide located in Hérault (South France) and consisting of a large unstable slope destabilized by high rainfall events (e.g. hydrological Cevenol events). The dataset includes drainage and recharge periods of the water reservoir, and acceleration and deceleration phases of the landslide in relation to hydrological forcings.
- HARM: Harmallière landslide located in Isère/Trièves area (Central French Alps) and consisting of a rapidly evolving clayey slope with the triggering of mudflows and the retrogression of the scarp. The dataset includes acceleration and deceleration phases of the landslide in relation to hydrological forcings.
