FDSN Network Information

FDSN code ZR (2008-2008) Network name Bering Glacier Field Camp 2008 (Bering Glacier 08)
Start year 2008 Operated by
  • Michigan Technological University (MTU), United States of America
End year 2008 Deployment region
Description

The purpose of this experiment is to record acoustic and seismic signals generated by the Bering Glacier using infrasound and L22 short period geophones. The combination of acoustic and seismic signals may aid in differentialting between the various types of icequakes and may lead to developing a clearer picture of the mechanism behing claving.
