FDSN Network Information

FDSN code ZJ (2004-2004) Network name Temporary microseismic network for the Cavola 2004 experiment (Italy). (CAVOLA-04-TMN)
Start year 2004 Operated by
End year 2004 Deployment region -
Description

As part of the Cavola 2004 experiment, a micro seismic network was installed to improve earthquake localization in the area where the 2D seismic array with the YB_2004 network was installed (doi: https://doi.org/10.7914/SN/YB_2004). Thanks to the installation of five stand-alone seismic velocimetry stations to complement the Permanent Seismic Network managed by the Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia (net code: IV, doi: https://doi.org/10.13127/sd/x0fxnh7qfy), the initial earthquake detection threshold of M=2.0 in the area was lowered. The distance between the temporary network stations and the IV network was reduced to 10 km.
All data from the temporary network have been recovered and are now available on the European Integrated Data Archive (EIDA).
