  • Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece
End year - Deployment region
Description

EUROSEISTEST is a multidisciplinary European experimental site for integrated studies in earthquake engineering, engineering seismology, seismology and soil dynamics. It is the longest running valley-instrumentation project worldwide, and is located about 30km to the NE of the city of Thessaloniki in northern Greece.
The EUROSEISTEST accelerometric network has been in operation since 1993, under the responsibility of the Research Unit of Soil Dynamics and Geotechnical Earthquake Engineering (SDGEE) of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki with the support of the Institute of Engineering Seismology and Earthquake Engineering (ITSAK).
EG network was named after EUROSEISTEST as its core comprises of the 3D accelerometric array deployed at the test site, although it also includes other permanent accelerometric stations of SDGEE in and around Thessaloniki.
