Description

Egyptian National Strong Motion Network (ENSM)

Since 2008, the General Seismological Laboratory of the National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics (NRIAG), Egypt, has been  operating the ENSM accelerometric network. Helwan is host to the ENSM's main center. In order to achieve complete, integrated, and sustainable development, these networks offer peak ground acceleration values  to governorates and areas around regarding the best locations for development projects and architectural designs. The ENSM's completely automated network system for seismological data collection and processing is designed to quickly exchange information about strong motion earthquakes and acquire and process seismological data digitally.
