FDSN Network Information

FDSN code 9K (2013-2014) Network name INGV Temporary Seismic Network for Matese 2013 Sequence (Southern Italy) (ITSNM2013)
Start year 2013 Operated by
End year 2014 Deployment region -
Description

On 29 December 2013, the Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia (INGV) located an earthquake with a magnitude ML=4.9 at 16:08 UTC, in an area between the provinces of Caserta and Benevento, in southern Italy, note with the name Matese (coordinates: 41.40° N - 14.43° E, depth 20 Km).
To improve the automatic localization of events belonging to the seismic sequence, two temporary seismic stations equipped with a short period velocity meter and accelerometer were installed, connected in real time with the INGV data acquisition center, integrating the permanent network (FDSN code= IV , doi: https://doi.org/10.13127/SD/X0FXNH7QFY).
All data archive is available to the scientific community through the EIDA Italia node.
