Description

We plan on conducting a short survey using four nodal seismometers strategically placed on public land (B.L.M.) to capture signals of individual passing highway, train, and air traffic. Targets include the Socorro Municipal Airport, NM-1, I-25, and the BNSF line running N-S parallel to I-25. Observations of vehicle type and timing are to be made periodically throughout the experiment. These observations are to be used to characterize and differentiate the seismic signals induced by passing vehicles.
