FDSN Network Information

FDSN code 7J (2016-2030) Network name InSight pre and post-flight synthetic data
Start year 2016 Operated by
End year 2030 Deployment region
Description

a NASA Discovery Program mission that will place a single geophysical lander on Mars to study its deep interior. Landing is expected in November 2018.
The Lander will deploy the SEIS experiment, which will be based on two 3-axis seismometers: a VBB and a SP. In addition, environmental sensors will provide data on possible source of seismic noise, including a 3 axis Magnetometer, a pressure sensor, wind sensors and temperature sensors.
This 7J request is for synthetic data prepared before and during the mission that will be used to calibrate methods for operating the SEIS services that will monitor seismicity and determine martian structure.
