Description

In 2020 three broadband seismometers were distributed to Carnegie Institution for Science staff members to set up in their home backyards throughout the Washington DC metropolitan area for training and instrument testing purposes. Installation durations were originally planned for just a few months, but got extended beyond that. Noise levels and data continuity may not be ideal due to the experimental nature of station operations within a suburban environment, but overall data quality should be sufficient for many seismological analysis methods.
