FDSN Network Information

FDSN code 3Y (2020-2022) Network name Along-Dip Influence of the Challenger Fault Zone on Slip Behavior and Rheology, Chile (Esperanza Coquimbo)
Start year 2020 Operated by
End year 2022 Deployment region -
Description

The network aims to complete the permanent stations in the Coquimbo region, Chile, focusing on the subduction of the Challenger Fault Zone and its influence on the regional seismic activity and behavior. In order to enhance the density of observations, 11 instruments have been installed for 2 years to better characterize the regional seismicity of this region, historically poorly covered by permanent networks. Instruments are Guralp 40T sensors (30 s - 50 Hz) equipped with Nanometrics Taurus dataloggers, registering continuously at 100 Hz.
