Description

This data come from a community-themed nodal experiment as part of SZNet. SZNet is an international collaboration component of the SZ4D program, part of the NSF AccelNet program. This data arise from an August, 2024 pilot field trip focused on data collection for geology, petrology, and geophysics for SZNet, consisting of a ten-day field course in the Oregon Cascades. The 2024 program are described here: https://www.sz4d.org/2024-field-trip . As part of this program, we pilot the ability of seismic wavespeeds to provide in situ information about rock composition that complements petrologic sampling. The seismic program will consist of a human-source (hammer) refraction-type deployment, and a node-based meter-scale ambient noise deployments. The three arrays of 7-12 nodes has station spacing varying from 5 - 90 m, deployed for 2 - 18 hours. All arrays are at high altitude on Mount Ashland, Oregon.
